00:01 In this video I am going to show you how to add names to Google Voice. For best results adding names to Google Voice should be performed on a larger screen device such as a computer or laptop or larger screen phone because otherwise, certain features discussed and shown in this video may not be visible to you.
00:05 Navigate to voice.google.com to go to Google Voice. If you are on a device with a large enough screen you should see 3 vertical panels with the left most panel being a list of phone numbers that have had contact with (text message or phone calls sent or received).
00:17 Click that phone number to select it. At the top of the center panel of Google Voice you will see that phone number. Just to the right you will see 3 vertical dots ⋮. Click or press on the 3 vertical dots to bring up a pop up menu.
00:25 From that menu that appears click or press the menu item with the text People. You should then see a panel appear with that persons phone number at the top and just to the right of the phone number will be an icon that represents contacts which looks like the head of a person with a + symbol next to it. Click that icon.
00:33 You will see a window appear center screen where you can assign a name and label to this phone number. To finish and save this contact click the button with the text Add.
00:38 If the phone number of the person you want to add a name to and save as a contact does not appear in the list of phone numbers to the left, then send that phone number a text message or a phone call (the person does not have to answer the phone as long as the phone rings at least once) and then a few seconds later that phone number will appear in the list of phone numbers to the left.
