00:02 In this video I'm going to show you how you can download videos from YouTube or most other websites with video without having to use any sort of a third-party extensions, apps or software programs - just being able to do it with performing some basic hacks in Google Chrome.

00:18 What I'll do to make it easier for you to understand this, is I will go through the instructions, step-by-step and perform each of these steps so you can see exactly how to do it. First step is go to the page in Google Chrome that has the video you want to download. What we will do is go to YouTube.com and find some random video.

00:47 Step #2, click to play the video. If the video starts playing an advertisement ensure the advertisement is finished and the actual video you want to download his playing this ensures that video you want to download is in memory. So we see we have an advertisement here in this YouTube video.

01:02 Skip the advertisement. Now the video started playing. Press F12 on the keyboard panel to bring up the web browsers developers panel.

01:14 Let's go back to the video and press F12. That's developer panel right there. Click on the icon at the very top of the developers window in Chrome, that looks like a little mobile phone.

01:28 When you put your mouse over this icon in the Google Chrome developers panel that looks like a little mobile phone, you will see the pop up text that reads toggle device toolbar or you could just press CTRL + SHIFT + M on the keyboard. This is the icon right here. Click on that.

01:43 In the browser window where the video you want to download, towards the top of the page, click the drop-down icon that lets you select device you want to emulate in Google Chrome.

01:53 Select one of the iPhones for emulation. Press F5 on the keyboard to refresh the page with the video with these new settings.

02:10 We want to make sure the video is playing. Now there are 2 different methods we could use at this point to continue with the download of the YouTube video. Method #1: click on the Elements tab in the developers window and press CTRL + F on the keyboard to bring the search utility up.

02:25 In the search box type in <video. Again you want to ensure the video is currently playing before typing this in the search box.

02:43 The source code for the video you want to download should be highlighted. Look within the video code for src=, and that's right here.

02:53 Double click on the URL to select the URL then press CTRL + C on the keyboard to copy the URL to clipboard.

03:04 Open the web browser and paste the URL in a new web browser tab. Download the video, then right click on the video and from the popup menu click the menu item Save Video As. So we open a new tab ... paste the URL ... right click the video ... Save Video As. Not very complicated.

03:25 The second method is probably a little bit easier. Click on the Network tab. Again, the video should be playing already so it's in memory. In the text box that has the word Filter in it type in the word video.

03:43 Double click any list things that start with videoplayback?expire=. This makes the video you want to download open in a new browser tab. Right click on the video and click the menu item Save Video As.
