🧾 Find Ideal YouTube 📺 Tags

short url:

This page is going to show you how to find great tags or keyword phrases to focus on for the highest probability your YouTube video will show on the first page of Google.com search.

You want to choose a YouTube keyword phrase that has SOME video results on Google search but not TOO many.

🧾 Find Ideal YouTube 📺 Tags

A YouTube keyword is a keyword phrase, when searched in Google, shows between one but no more than three YouTube.com video results.

Why is this important? Google owns YouTube. If a Google search for a keyword phrase does not show one single YouTube.com video result for that search it means that Google does not think that a video is appropriate or helpful to is searchers, for that keyword phrase. Plain and simple.

If no video is being displayed on the first page of Google for a keyword phrase what makes you think you are going to upload and publish a YouTube video and have that show up on the first page of Google?

  • Are you THAT good at YouTube video marketing and SEO that you think you can accomplish what no one else has yet?
  • Do you think you discovered a rare, untapped, undiscovered keyword phrase?

If you can honestly answer yes to either of the above questions then go for it. If not then find a different keyword phrase.

At Least One Video Results But No More Than Three

While you don't want to waste your time with keyword phrases that show NO YouTube video results for a search you also want to avoid keyword phrases that show more than three video results.

The reason is if Google is already showing three YouTube videos on the first page of a search then chances are, that keyword phrase is already saturated with video results so the likelihood of you getting your YouTube upload to show on the first page of Google drops dramatically. Sure, once in a while, you will see a Google page that is plastered with nothing but YouTube videos but that is fairly uncommon.

The Ideal Number Of Video Results For A Google Search

The ideal keyword phrase to target for a YouTube video is one that shows one or two YouTube results on the first page of Google.

A keyword phrase like that is a keyword phrase where you have the best chance of having your video displayed on the first page of Google searches AND show up in the related videos section when someone searches that keyword phrase. That is a winning combination that will give you the most bang for your buck without having to engage in a backlinking and social sharing campaign to get traffic to your video.

Make sure you insert the exact keyword phrase in the following places:

  • The name of the video. In other words, lets say you are saving your video for upload to YouTube as a .mp4, name the video your-target-keyword-phrase.mp4.
  • The title of the video.
  • In the videos description, several times.
  • The first video tag.
