Make sure you are not just reporting a Facebook profile because you are angry at someone and just want to get back at them because there is the chance that Facebook will end up deleting your profile.

I have done this myself and I know that Facebook does take these reports seriously because when I reported a persons profile they got back to me in about 2 days about it and the results of their investigation into the reported profile.

To effectively report a someone on Facebook ...

  1. Go to the persons profile you wish to report.
  2. Near the top of the persons profile next to the button with the text that reads Message 🗩 you will see a button with an ellipse . Click that and a drop down menu will appear.
  3. Click the menu item Find Support or Report Profile .
  4. From there you will see a list of reasons to report that person including ...
    • Pretending to be someone.
    • Fake Account.
    • Fake Name.
    • Posting Inappropriate Things.
    • I Can't Access My Account.
    • I Want to Help.
    • Something Else.
  5. Click whichever item you feel is most appropriate for reporting the person and then click the Next button.
  6. You will then be presented with a dialog that provides you with a few other options such as blocking the person and unfollowing them. You can make any desired selections.
  7. Click the Done button.
  8. You can expect a response from the Facebook team within a few days as to their decision about what they are going to doing about the reported Facebook profile.
