🧾 Amazon 🗳 FireStick 🔥 Hard Factory with/wo Remote Reset
You can reset your Amazon Firestick TV to factory default, called a hard reset, whether or not you have the Amazon Firestick TV remote control. It is faster and easier WITH the remote but if you don't have it, you don't have it.
The net result is your Amazon Firestick TV will be reset to what it was when it was brand new in the box.
Amazon Firestick TV Hard, Factory Reset WITH Remote
- Turn on the TV that has the Amazon.com Firestick inserted in the HDMI drive of the TV.
- Go to the Amazon TV home/main screen.
- On the Amazon FireStick remote control, press the back key ⮌ and the right side of the navigation ring AT THE SAME TIME and HOLD for about 10 seconds, until the factory reset confirmation screen appears on the TV.
- With the remote, select and press the
OK
button on the factory reset screen on the TV to confirm that you want to reset your Amazon.com Firestick to factory default.
- Let the Amazon.com Firestick do its thing and in a minute or so your Amazon.com Firestick will be just like it was when you first opened the box.
Amazon Firestick TV Hard, Factory Reset WITHOUT Remote
If we don't have the remote control for the Amazon Firestick, we have to trick the Amazon Firestick into THINKING we have the remote control which is a simple matter of downloading the Amazon Firestick TV remote control app to your cell phone.
If you don't have a Amazon Firestick remote AND you don't have a cell phone then the only hard reset option left is to throw your TV off a cliff.
- Go to the appropriate app store for your phone.
- In the search box type in
Amazon Firestick
.
- Download the Amazon Firestick remote control app to your cell phone.
- Turn on the TV that has the Amazon.com Firestick inserted in the HDMI drive of the TV.
- Open/launch the Amazon Firestick remote control app.
- Follow the Amazon Fire TV app instructions to pair the Amazon Fire TV app with the Amazon Fire TV stick plugged into your TV.
- On the Amazon Fire TV app, press the settings cog 🏶. This will cause a small popup menu to appear.
- Click the
Fire TV Settings
menu item.
- You will see the settings panel appear on the bottom half of your TV.
- Use the navigation buttons/arrows on the Amazon Fire TV app to scroll down which will cause the settings panel to fill the entire screen.
- Select the menu item
My Fire TV
and click it.
- The
My Fire TV
sub menu will appear, filling the center, vertical third of your TV screen.
- Use the navigation buttons/arrows on the Amazon Fire TV app to scroll down until the menu item

is selected/highlighted.
