00:01 In this video I am going to show you how to perform a hard or factory reset on the Amazon Fire TV stick.
00:14 Turn on the TV that has the Amazon Fire Stick in it and make sure the channel source on the TV is the same source as the HDMI port you have the Amazon Fire Stick plugged into. Go to the Amazon Fire TV home screen.
00:23 On the Amazon Fire TV Stick press the back button ⮌ and the right side of the navigation ring at the same time and you hold it down for about 10 seconds. Wait for the factory reset confirmation screen. Press the OK button to confirm you want to reset your Amazon Fire TV to its factory default. If you do nothing, the Amazon Fire TV is automatically going to reset in 15 seconds so keep that in mind.
01:23 If you don't have the remote control for the Amazon Fire TV you can still perform a factory reset on your Amazon Fire TV. Go to the appropriate app store for your cell phone which would be Google Play for Android devices or the App Store for iPhone. Type into the search box Amazon Fire TV stick. Download the Amazon Fire TV Stick app by clicking or pressing the install button. Before opening the app, turn your TV on to the channel that has the Amazon Fire TV plugged into the HDMI port.
01:55 Run the Amazon Fire TV Stick remote control app. Press the cogwheel 🏶 which is the settings menu, which you can see by the #1 on the image, which makes the menu shown near the #2 to display a menu. Press Fire TV Settings menu item.
02:07 The settings panel will appear on the bottom third of your TV screen. Press the down arrow button on the remote to make the settings panel fill the entire screen. Press the Amazon Fire TV Stick app navigation arrow buttons until the My Fire TV menu item is selected. Press it. You will see a menu appear vertically in the center third of your TV screen. Using the Amazon Fire TV Stick apps navigations buttons, scroll down until the menu item Reset to Factory Defaults. Press that. Confirm that you wish to perform a hard or factory reset on your Amazon Fire TV.
